I'm Derek Patterson, a Louisiana artist working in textured mixed media.

My work is inspired by old buildings, music, nature, and places that feel worn-in and alive. I use layered color, loose brushwork, and texture to create paintings and prints with a sense of age, mood, and character.

Over the years, my work has taken me on the road to art shows and markets across different parts of the country. Lately, much of my focus has been on Louisiana, the Gulf Coast, and the places nearby that carry their own history, architecture, music, and atmosphere.

I create original paintings, art prints, and ready-to-hang panel pieces from my artwork. Thanks for stopping by and taking time to look through what I create.
